My son Joe was born in 2013 with Cystic Fibrosis, a life shortening genetic condition, so I left my job in libraries to care for him. As a creative outlet I decided to start my blog www.rrandj.wordpress.com and now the etsy shop of the same name which allows me to make, create and play with pom poms as well as raise awareness about Cystic fibrosis along the way. As a result of this I am an avid fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis trust and I aim to give 10% of all proceeds from this shop to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

I have always loved crafting and from a very young age I was surrounded by wool, my mother being an avid and expert knitter, never without needles in her hands or projects on the go- I love the colours and textures of yarn, and not being a great knitter myself I tried my hand at making pom poms to occupy myself in the spare moments between looking after a toddler, and allowing me to make use of vibrant wool and yarn without the need to knit. I found that I was hooked!

I started making pom pom wreaths as gifts which received a lot of compliments and the more pom poms I made the more ideas I had which has led to the development of my lovely shop RRandJ!

Here at RRandJ we make all sorts of pom pom related paraphernalia, our signature items are pom pom wreaths for all occasions!

I use many different varieties of wool and yarn as well as new and vintage fabrics, beads, jewels and made and found objects as embellishments.
