Even as a teen, I just loved babies. I also love sewing for babies/new moms. There's just something about seeing a newborn wearing one of your soft, sweet creations that makes you want to melt. My soft blankets can be “loved” around for years. I'm 56 almost 57 and now have three grown kids and seven grandkids. I still can't pass up a baby without wanting to smell them. ( I know it's weird) and I still love, love, love babies. My daughter calls me the baby whisperer because I can put a crying baby to sleep in under 10 minutes.

​As the mother of three, and grandmother, it has been a privilege (and super fun!) for me to be able to make their clothing - from blankets, to diaper covers, to burp cloths, to costumes and dresses, I truly enjoy every bit of it!

As an earth-loving human, it's been my responsibility to learn - and teach my children - about the impact of our footprint on our environment and our youngest inhabitants. For this reason, I choose to work with mostly cotton fabrics /organic cotton flannel materials in my handmade children's goods. Mom's also asked for an organic flannel line in my shop, so now you have a line available.

With your support, I've been able to turn my passion for handmade into a small business that now helps to support my family. I am committed to creating "Beastie" tough clothing and heirloom quality baby goods for you and those you love.

My name is Marybeth Mullen and I am the owner and creator at Beastie's Babies, where I offer handmade, heirloom quality baby goods and custom clothing. All of the items listed are made by me in beautiful Oregon, OH and meet CPSIA safety guidelines. I use 100% cotton fabrics and soft fleece for children's items. The organic cotton fabrics line I use are GOTS certified and dyed with no harmful chemicals or heavy metals involved in the process, which helps to protect you and your family from environmental toxins. The snaps are also tested for lead and harmful chemicals.

My favorite sewing projects to make are gender neutral. You only get a few real surprises in life. Not knowing the gender of your children before they're born is one of the best. (That's only my opinion).

Now, as for the name of my shop Beastie's Babies. My best friends call me "Beastie". I don't mind, I love them to death. Sometimes I can be a beast. (I am not a morning person, so stay clear).
