There is something wonderful and fascinating about hand crafted jewelry that is soulfully created one piece at a time. The magical transcendence of energy that transforms bits of metal into something that is soulful and timeless speaks to the heart of every woman who by nature has a desire for loveliness and beauty.
For most all of Ted’s life he has been a metal fabricator and metalsmith by trade. Around 2008 he began a journey away from designing big and large metal equipment to one that brought him back to his workbench. He set out to discover and explore the gift of art through creative avocations.
This adventure has taken us on a journey into the utilization of ancient techniques to coax the secrets locked away in the metals and the minerals of the earth through various persuasions in order to delight and mystify our senses.
We soon realized that we had a growing number of gorgeous Celtic style hand forged jewelry collecting on the workbench. We began talking about the idea of opening a shop on Etsy which we did in 2009.
Well, life has many unexpected possibilities and it would be another year before our odyssey would bring us to a place where we would actively take on the work of filling our shop with our hand forged jewelry. And in February 2010 Gaelic Forge was officially open for business.
After children getting married, grandchildren being born and downsizing our home this new chapter in our lives evolved with perfect timing.
Ted and I have always shared a love of nature and all the gifts that Mother Nature has placed before us. We grow closer through our business and our love for our family as we venture forth each day into the wonderment about us.

Welcome! A little more about us:
Ted – I was born and raised in California and grew up working alongside my dad, using tools and making repairs to keep things running. I worked on farm machinery all my life and have built and maintained packing equipment from the ground up. After the personal computer boom I spent several years building and supporting PC’s. I went full circle working with metal and in 2009 I turned my attention to that elusive fifth element we reach for in creative endeavors found in the simple pleasures of art.
Violet – I was born in California’s Bay Area and raised in the vast wilderness of 360 acres. I spent years hiking over hills and down through gully’s, along creeksides and discovered forgotten corners of the ranch. My relationship with the earth grew with the soft breezes, the echoing valleys and the sounds of various living things about the hills.
I am the photographer and uploader here at Gaelic Forge as well as the packer and shipper. I handle most of the convos and communication here in the shop and post in the forums. My creative challenge is to continue working to develop skill to photograph our hand forge jewelry.
