I love coats

I am a fabric addict. It's a real problem. My favorites are usually amazing, textural Italian wools. Alpaca is pretty awesome too. This past year I've really had some fun with knit groups (this is new for me).
Usually a design comes when I am no where near pen & paper. If I'm lucky I get it down before it gets drown out by the next.
Patterning takes quite a bit of time, so my walls are full of post-it ideas I hope to eventually get to. After patterning, there is a sample made & fitted (usually do this around x3, but sometimes I get it right the first time). I like this part quite a bit - lots of puzzling about angles and measurements to get the fit I want.
Next I throw a bunch of fabrics on my table to drape them around, fold them, and see which will work best. Then I make the final sample to see. Most often there will be at least one more tweak to the pattern, then it's ready to send off to be graded (plotted to different sizes).

Although I still make many pieces myself, I do have some construction assistance from Ms. V, whom I work closely with. Everything is and always will be made in the USA.
