Painting small is a great way to help improve your paintings. If you would like to see how to approach a small painting, this pastel demo is the perfect addition to your painting library. I am pleased to share my approach to painting very small with pastels in this PDF downloadable demo.
The subject is a summer landscape with wildflowers. Learn all about my supplies and techniques for painting these small pastels all the way through choosing my pastels to the finishing details.
This demo also includes tips for putting together your own mini pastel kit both for plein air and travel. I also cover ideas for protecting and displaying your finished minis. There is also a bonus demo in photos included.
If you would like to paint some minis and want to see my approach consider my digital download!
The demo has 16 pages and 41 color photos!
I like to paint demos. I really don't mind painting in front of a group and sharing what is going on in my head as a painting develops. I don't mind being interrupted with lots of question. The more the better. Sure not every demo is successful but I always try to make sure that the group learns something. I find that for a shy person I have a lot to say when it comes to talking about my passion.
I have been posting mini demos on my blog for the past two years. But they are condensed versions and don't quite compare to a real live demo. I have been wanting to find a way to share my demos with others without doing a video. I don't have the equipment for that. So when I discovered that Etsy offers sellers the ability to offer digital downloads I thought it would be the perfect way to share a more detailed demo in PDF form.
This download can be viewed on your computer or printed and stapled into a booklet. It includes my step by step approach to painting landscape complete with 41 full color photos and description of each step of the painting.
The demo is a pastel painting but I use the same approach to paint landscapes in oil and acrylic so the information will be helpful even if you don't use pastels!
