Hello and welcome to our store! We're so happy you have taken the time to stop by and visit us!

We are a family run business with myself Pieternella (nicknamed Peggy) in charge of the creating, designing, hand dyeing, photography, and sewing of all our products. I've been sewing since I was about 18 years of age, but the arrival of my children many years ago caused my love of sewing to grow and flourish in ways I never imagined. I have been creating and sharing cloth products since 2004! Our products are used and loved all over the WORLD! Running a business has been a dream of mine since I was just a child. Art & working with my hands has always been a passion but since having 5 children & a homestead there hasn't been a whole lot of time for sketching, painting, and other art forms and so began my love of creating beauty and luxury in everyday practical items.

My husband helps with the shipping by making trips to the post office! We live quite rural and must take all our packages to the post office for shipping and to pick up our mail!

All our children have helped in countless ways over the years, wherever their own talents fit, and wherever their hearts desire. Now grown, only one of them continues to work for Homestead Emporium. The business has always evolved, and a new season has come upon us with grown children now either living on their own, working out of the home, or off to college/university! This leaves me back to doing most things myself, and while the workload is sometimes large for one person, I have quite enjoyed 'reclaiming' the business as my own once again!

In 2013 we finally became owners of a small homestead on the prairies of Saskatchewan. Here we share our days with horses, mini-horses, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, pigeons, dogs, and way too many cats. We have a hard time saying no to strays... If we're not busy creating things in the sewing studio, you can find us in our very large garden, the small fruit orchard, in the barn watching lambs or piglets being born, or simply enjoying the great outdoors.

When you purchase products from Homestead Emporium, you can feel good knowing you are helping to support our desire to create a lifestyle that we can be proud of. Since 2004 this business has allowed me to be home with our children, and now home on our homestead, even though the children don't need me quite so much any more. :)
