If you come up to me, I could talk for hours about my shop and inspiration. But to get this in writing...*cricket*cricket* Do I have to? Apparently yes, if I want a successful shop. So in my research of the "best about pages" I found multiple articles stating I should answer 3-5 of the following questions. So here's all about my shop.
Happy reading!
-How did you get started? I've always enjoyed making things. Especially braids and knots. I sold friendship bracelets on the playground and I sold hemp/macrame jewelry in high school. I love the intricate details of knots and braids. It was and still is something fun to me.
-What’s the story behind your products? How are they made? Designed? I use genuine leather in all my crafts. I love the durability and yet classy-ness it can provide. All my items are designed with someone in mind, weather its for my classic mom, my down to earth hubby, or my best friend's girly girl. As I design something I imagine who I want wearing it.
-Where do you look for your creative inspiration? The first half of my life I prepped myself to be the sophisticated career woman who held season tickets for the symphony, ballet, and opera. The second half of my life I learned how to get mud on the tires, jump into a river from a rope swing, and how to walk barefoot in the backyard. (Still kinda grosses me out though) My inspiration comes from combining my two journeys. I want to create pieces where you feel elegant enough to wear them to the ballet but also to that backyard BBQ. Something classy and fun at the same time.
-What’s your background? Practice, trial and error. If I don't like it I try again. I may not be a "professional" but I know what I like and what I don't. I have been designing jewelry and accessories since I was a little girl, now I get to bring them to life.
-What gives you that fire in the belly—the thing that makes you hop out of bed bright and early each and every morning to work on (and for) your small business? Smiles. When I see someone opening up one of my gifts, it makes me happy to see them smile. That might sound cliche, but its the truth. I hope I get to bring a smile to you too!
Happy Shopping!
