PERSONALIZED ITEMS - is done by hand stamping as opposed to inscribing. For a professionally inscribed item, please take your finished piece to a skilled inscriber.

EXISTING CWJ DESIGNS - if you love a design you see, but prefer a different metal, length, diameter, etc., please just ask!

FYI: using string or measuring tape, measure snug, but not tight!

CLOSED BANGLES:
• measure widest area of hand.
• for best fit, opt for bangle a bit larger than hand measurement.
• add 1/8" to measurement before ordering an OVAL bangle.

OPENING BRACELETS:
• measure @ preferred wrist location.
• add 1/4" for a fitted bracelet.
• add 1/2" for a more snug fit.
• choose closest, but never smaller size!

CUFFS:
• measure @ preferred wrist location.
• order your measured size. Ex: 7" wrist = 7" cuff.
• openings vary by cuff size.

**WIDE BANDS - consider ordering 1/2 size up!

OXIDATION
• over time, many metals acquire an antiqued finish.
• restore shine - w/soft cloth or for a lovely feathered etching, buff
lightly w/0000 steel wool.

BUFF/STORE
Boxes contain anti-tarnish pads to prevent oxidation!
• buff w/soft cloth between wearing (lens cloth works well)
• store in sealed bag in low humidity environment

OCCASIONAL DEEP CLEAN:
• 1 min soak in mild soap & h2o
• buff w/soft toothbrush if needed
• rinse well/dry completely
• store as above

REMOVE FOR:
• hand washing/showering
• hot tubs/pools
• cleaning
• beach/garden work
• working out/sweating

AVOID EXPOSURE TO:
• sunscreen
• bleach/chemicals
• perfume/hairspray/make-up
• soap/lotion

TO REMOVE TARNISH
OPTION 1 (sterling silver only)
• line glass dish w/aluminum foil
• fill w/hot h2o
• add 2 tsp baking soda & 1 tsp salt
• place silver side by side & touching each other
• silver must be placed directly on foil
• watch tarnish disappear
• once clean, remove, rinse & dry w/soft towel
**heavily tarnished pieces can be left for up to 5 minutes

OPTION 2
• use a pre-treated polishing cloth such as 'sunshine' cloth

OPTION 3
• store bought precious metal creams work well
• select one appropriate for your specific metal
• follow manufacturer's instructions
• be gentle - scrubbing will cause permanent damage!

GOLD FILLED is used to offer you the highest quality gold product, next to solid gold, at an affordable price. Unlike gold plated or vermeil, it will not chip, tarnish or peel if given a bit of care (see care instruction above) & is safe for sensitive skin & allergies.

Also known as 'rolled' gold, gold filled has many layers of 14k gold heat bonded to a base metal at high temperatures, creating a very thick coating for a high quality gold product.

GOLD PLATED consists of a very THIN layer of gold electroplated onto a base metal, usually brass or steel. This option easily wears, chips and peels.

GOLD VERMEIL/DIPPED - made as gold plated except the base metal is typically sterling silver. This option will also wear, chip and peel.

Copper & brass may leave a greenish color on skin which is not harmful & is easily removed w/soap & water. If bothersome to you, please consider choosing a different metal.

♦♦♦ BODY CHEMISTRY
• affects how skin reacts to certain metals.
• can cause metal to oxidize more quickly on some than others.
• for some people there is no reaction at all.
• trying different metals shows which work best w/your chemistry.

CWJ has no knowledge of your skin or body chemistry, so you are best at choosing metals that works for you!

Although most reactions are not harmful, if desired, discontinue wear should they occur & as noted above, consider a different metal choice in the future.

Often to define hammered/stamped textures, color is intentionally added to a metal's surface. I believe the beauty of oxidized metal lies in the process, so I use my own signature technique to ensure gorgeous shine and longer lasting color

Creating uniquely beautiful pieces each time, one round of oxidation may produce slight variation in color and hue from the next w/each metal's reaction defined below:

COPPER: medium - dark chocolates
BRASS: antiqued, often slightly green effect
STERLING: light - dark gray, almost black

CWJ's APPLIED PATINA OPTIONS
LIGHT OXIDATION - brushed to reveal the metal beneath.
DARK OXIDATION - left untouched for a striking, industrial feel.

*Applied patina adds a small price increase

♥NO protective finish remains on jewelry unless it's not worn - & what fun is that?

Having used a protective coating in the past, I found it to cause a harsh color change over time when compared to items left untreated. Therefore, I discontinued use & do not use any protective finish due to this finding as well as the statement above♥ & am currently updating listings that may say otherwise.
