We've updated our Privacy Policy in compliance with EU’s new privacy law, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into effect in the UK on May 25, 2018. This law gives you more control of your personal data and greater transparency around how it is used. We've always been committed to keeping your personal data safe – the GDPR is just an extra layer of security for you.
This Privacy Policy describes how and when we collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item, contact us, or otherwise use Hanson & Hopewell’s services through Etsy.com or its related sites and services.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that we do not own or control, including Etsy or any third party services you access through Etsy. You can reference the Etsy Privacy Policy to learn more about its privacy practices.
1. Personal information we collect
To fulfil your order, you must provide us with certain information (which you authorised Etsy to provide), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide us with additional personal information (for a custom order for example), if you contact us directly.
2. How we use your data
All the information we collect via Etsy or through correspondence with you is used to operate and improve the service we offer you and to personalise our service. We are committed to using your personal information only for:
a) Planning and managing our business activities, including using your order information to fulfil any orders placed through the site (including processing your payment information and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations), to provide customer support or to settle disputes.
b) Analysing customers' shopping habits, success of advertisements and push notifications and product and style preferences of our customers through the Etsy platform.
c) Technical administration of our Etsy shop.
d) Compliance with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.
3. How we share your data
We share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you our services and comply with our obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.
We use trusted delivery partners including Royal Mail and Hermes with whom we share your personal information to the extent necessary to perform these services.
If we decide to sell or merge our business, we may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.
Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU
As we use iCloud and Gmail, these third party services may store and process your information in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, we may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If we are deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, we rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer.
Your rights
If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. When you place an order through Etsy, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information. If you would like to exercise this right, please email our data protection officer Katrina Hopewell at hello@hansonandhopewell.com.
