I'm Amanda, founder and owner of The Hound Haberdashery™. I was very fortunate to discover my collar-making passion shortly after adopting my first retired racing greyhounds in 2008. Looking for affordable alternatives to some of the designer martingales available at that time, I began sourcing fabrics and ribbons from all over the world to fashion unique collars for my dogs. I quickly fell in love with my new creative pastime, and with the encouragement of friends, family members, and even friendly passersby, I decided to turn my hobby into a business venture, launching my first online collection on Etsy in June 2010.

Since then, I've worked hard to build my company, expanding product lines, reaching out to my wonderful customers through social media and special events, and establishing relationships with rescues across the country. In March 2016, I welcomed another very talented seamstress to the business. Shawna has been a huge help with production and adds her own creative flair to everything she makes. Moving forward, we will continue to grow the company, adding to our offerings both here and on our off-Etsy site, www.houndhaberdashery.dog, and fulfilling The Hound Haberdashery's three-part mission:

(1) to contribute to animal welfare and rescue
(2) to provide excellent, personalized customer service
(3) to offer top-quality pet products at affordable prices
