When the pandemic hit and stole my full-time gig, I needed a distraction bad. Enter decoupaging! (That's decorating with paper, FYI.) One seashell sold like hotcakes, then another, and another...and before I knew it, my creative hobby had exploded into a thriving Etsy biz with over 1600 sales and 480 FIVE-STAR reviews! Can you believe it?!
My shop is called LifeIsland, a nod to my homeland of Long Island, NY. And my logo? It's a spiral shell, which just happens to share the same mathematical pattern as a galaxy. Mind-blowing, right?!
But let's talk about the real star of the show: these handmade mermaid gifts. Each shell is plucked from its ocean home and transformed into a one-of-a-kind treasure. I put my jewelry in the shell but hate covering the beautiful mermaid and surrounding water. I'm an artist so I know quality. This shell is EVERYTHING! I'm buying a 2nd shell for my daughter.
