Inspired by archaeological finds & traditional shapes, I aim to bring ancient designs back into our modern world. My work is based on Viking, medieval, iron-age, bronze-age, and Neolithic archaeology found mostly in Scandinavia and the UK. Everything is made by me from a lump of clay to the finished item, with help only from my cat. Some items are ready to ship, others are made-to-order.

Frequently asked questions

The wonderful peculiarities of the handmade...

Everything in my shop is handmade by me, either on the pottery wheel or by sculpting clay by hand. This means that those little glaze drips, or shape differences, or unusual patterns are just part of the handmade process. Each is guaranteed to be completely unique.

Consider the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi: beauty in imperfection, asymmetry, irregularity, nature, and simplicity. These characteristics embody handmade items. Embrace them!

If your order makes a return trip to me...

Please check the delivery address carefully! If an order is returned to me after long journey across the ocean and back, I will contact the customer immediately. Unfortunately, the buyer will then be responsible for the shipping cost to a different address.

Returns are quite rare, but I encourage my customers to check their address and track the parcel, if possible, so they know if a delivery attempt has been made.

Why is the processing time so long?

I only begin to make an item once I have an order - even those items not requiring personalisation. So, the time to finish your order will depend on how many other orders I have to finish before I get to yours. My lead time is usually 3 to 5 weeks - but I'm trying my hardest to make everything more efficient and get orders done more quickly! Thanks for understanding!
