WHO ARE WE?

We are a mother and daughter team who share a common love for crochet. Before we became official crochet addicts (and we mean addicts) we were certified golf nuts.

HOW DID WE DISCOVER CROCHET AMIGURUMI?

One of our playing partners turned up at golf and proudly showed us her crocodile amigurumi headcover. We quickly informed her that it was in fact a giraffe. This point aside, we were inspired to do a quick search on the internet for how the giraffe was created and thanks to the wonders of YouTube and Google we soon learned the intricacies of making stuffed toys with basic crochet stitches.

HOW DID WE SET UP OUR ETSY SHOP?

We love putting our ideas into stitches and with that comes a serious yarn budget(!). To fund our buying habits and inability to restrain ourselves from shopping for yarn, and also to look for new loving homes for our creations, we decided to set up our own Etsy shop.

Our first shop Bubbles and Bongo was established in 2015. In 2018, we decided to set up a second shop that we call The Little Hook Crochet. Bubbles and Bongo sells finished crochet amigurumi dolls, whilst The Little Hook Crochet sells (almost) everything you need to create your own crochet creations.

WHERE CAN YOU FIND THE LITTLE HOOK CROCHET PATTERNS?

In addition to selling our patterns through our Etsy shop "TheLittleHookCrochet", we also sell our patterns through our own website www.thelittlehookcrochet.com and the amigurumi patterns platform www.amigurumi.com.

Our patterns can also be found in published books, including those published by AmigurumiPatterns (Amigurumi Parent & Baby Animals; Zoomigurumi series; Amigurumi Monsters; Unicorns, Dragons & More Fantasy Amigurumi) and issues of Simply Crochet magazine (including patterns for cover gifts!).

Most excitingly, our resident pattern designer for The Little Hook Crochet, Erinna Lee (Instagram: @littleaquagirl), has released two of her very own books Amigurumi Treasures 1 and 2, published with Amigurumi.com! Each book contains 15 brand new patterns. Amigurumi Treasures 1 was awarded a High Commendation at the 2020 British Knitting and Crochet Awards in the category of "Greatest Crochet Book".
