When I discovered the art of wire wrapping several years ago, I fell in love with the challenge and endless possibilities. Wire wrapping became an outlet for my creative energy and was the perfect medium for this homemaker and busy mom of three (now four).

Pillar of Salt Studio is now not just about me (Lott’s wife--heehee), but it involves the whole Lott family. Both my husband and I have a part in every piece of jewelry we present. I (Sara) do the designing and most of the forming; Josh takes it from the raw metal and oxidizes, polishes, and clear coats it, when applicable. He also helps me package and ship orders. The kids help with cutting wire lengths, punching holes in product cards, folding shipping boxes, and the like. I hope they are learning the value of hard work and whatever they do, to work at it with all their heart.

Every purchase helps care for children in Guatemala. Our family has a special connection with Guatemala and we have found an amazing organization, Hope of Life International, that we support financially each month. Guatemala is the most undernourished country in Latin America and the fourth highest in the world. Hope of Life (hopeoflifeintl.org) saves lives by attending to the physical needs and sharing the good news of Jesus' love by rescuing children suffering from severe malnutrition, attending to medical needs, providing clean water to villages, building homes and schools, and more.
