I've been into knitting for some time now. In 2014, I took a Knitting with Beads class where I learned how to incorporate beads into knitted pieces by placing a bead onto a stitch.
I was totally uninspired and thought there might be a more creative way to mix the two techniques. I decided to take some time off of knitting and learn basic beading stitches so that I could then come up with some new designs.
I am just completing my first year of learning to bead, and am completely enthralled with this new craft! There are so many choices - bead sizes, material, shapes, and colors, not to mention stitches - that it sometimes becomes overwhelming...but in a very good way!
I think that having a knitting background gives me a different vantage point for thinking of new beading designs and compositions than what someone who only does beading might create.
Then again, I have never really had the same thought pattern as anyone else with whom I've exchanged ideas, so it just might be that.
I hope you enjoy my creative combinations!
