My love of silversmithing was born many years ago in a magical little town called Pushkar, in the Indian state of Rajasthan. I stumbled upon a local jeweller teaching silversmithing to tourists and decided to have a go at making a ring. I ended up staying in Pushkar for months so I could learn as much as possible with Sunil. I fell in love with the technique and the town. Every few weeks I would take a trip to the magpie paradise of Jaipur to fill my pockets with dazzling gems. Back in London, I invested in all the tools I needed and honed my skills in the corner of my room.

I still visit India as often as possible and my fascination with the colours and ancient rituals and traditions of the country has had a very strong influence on my design aesthetic. Symbolism is an everyday part of Indian culture and can be seen on everything, from temples to the markings on peoples faces. It is an unspoken language - shapes and colours that mean more than mere aesthetics. All of my time spent in India has filled me with a fascination for the symbolic which inspired me to create a range of jewellery that is so much more than decoration. Inspired by ancient talismans and amulets - jewellery to carry you safely through this world and guide you to embody all that you wish to become.

My jewellery varies between the bold and the delicate, and the subtle and the vibrant, reflecting my contrasting passion for both the city and nature.

Every piece in my collection is handmade by me in my workshop.

I fell in love with the antique silver tribal jewellery in India mainly for its organic imperfection. The raw forms of ancient jewellery influences my silver work, as does the symbolism.

Ingredients

All of the silver used in my jewellery is 92.5 sterling silver. Larger pieces of jewellery will be hallmarked. For some of the jewels in my Maharani range, I have used gold-filled and gold-vermeil chain and wire. Please send me an email if you are interested in getting a piece made in gold.
