New England Knit Co. is my most exciting venture yet. Eight years ago I started a business, L.Alexandra Designs, creating a wide variety of handmade accessories. I started with knit pieces, then expanded to jewelry and home decor. As the years went on, it became clear that my knit collection needed its own fabulous shop, and here we are!

I absolutely love making things, especially when I find the softest and coziest materials! My favorites are Peruvian Wool, Cashmere, Alpaca, and Mohair, all of which you'll find in my shop.

I learned how to knit when I was only 4 years old in preschool. It wasn't something I kept up with though, and I didn't revisit it until I was in high school. But even then I couldn't quite manage to focus long enough to finish a project! Five years ago I started knitting again and realized just how relaxing it could be after a long day, and it's so fun seeing a project take shape.

When I'm not knitting, I'm spending time with my husband, our daughter, and two dogs, or horseback riding! I've been riding for 27 years and it's my absolute favorite thing to do.

I was always taught "do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life", and I know now that's so true! I love what I do and I wake up every day excited to get to work. I absolutely love all of the pieces in my shop and either wear or use each of them in my own home on a regular basis, and I hope you'll enjoy them too!
