My name is Alyson, and I am one of the partners in AlyCatCreations1. I have been sewing and doing needlecrafts since I was 7 and became a fabric "collector" not long after. I have always loved the feeling of material in my hands, working with needle and thread to create something pretty.

My name is Catherine, and my grandmother started teaching me about crochet when I was about 5. Though she passed away before I became proficient, I have always cherished the memory of working yarn with her. I went on to become enamored with crafts--crocheting, sewing, painting. I even made my own wedding dress.

AlyCat Creations is a collaboration between two friends who love fabric, yarn, and all their accoutrements. You'll find items made with love and care for you, your home, your baby, and sometimes even your pets.

Alyson and Catherine met in Cambridge, England while taking summer courses at the International Summer School at Cambridge University. They bonded over books, boys, and 'bridge (Cambridge, that is). Though one lived in the DC area and the other in NYC, they kept in touch and became close friends. These were in the days before FB made that easy, so instead they took the time to call, write real letters (gasp!), visit, and eventually travel together. When Alyson went off to Italy to study textile design, they discovered a mutual love of fabric.

Now that they are both back in the States, they've decided to put their mutual creativity to work. We hope you enjoy the results!
