What is Gold-Filled?
Gold-filled is higher quality and won’t tarnish like gold-plated because it is a thick 14k gold layer that is pressure-bonded to the core material such as brass or copper. Whereas gold-plated is just a minuscule thin layer of gold over the base metal. The gold in each Gold-filled piece makes up 5% of its total weight, considering it a precious metal, where on the contrary, the gold in gold-plated is only 0.05% of its total weight. Gold-filled is an economical alternative to solid gold jewelry and is more sustainable and long-lasting than gold-plated jewelry. All your pieces, at Laurane Elisabeth are made to be sustainable and last a long time with proper care. All of our materials are sourced in the USA from suppliers with ethical and sustainable practices. All materials used are Nickel Free.

Hammered option for my hoop earrings:
My hammered hoops are LIGHTLY Hammered on the OUTER ring
of each hoop. My CLASSIC HAMMERED HOOPS are hammered flat. Please see each listing for a picture that reflects all the Hammered looks. Because all of my hoops are THIN, the hammered edges will be SUBTLE. Compared to my SMOOTH hoops, they will reflect the light in a different way.

Backings are provided for earring each order.
The bigger the hoop, the more you will want to wear the backings.
My backings are made from soft rubber that allows easy application on
the hoop. Under normal conditions, the backings will hold up and if your hoop is tugged from normal activities it WILL come out and NOT rip your ear.

What kind of precious metals do you use?
14k Gold Filled, 14K Rose Gold Filled, 925 Sterling Silver, 935 Argentium Silver, or 18K Gold Vermeil. See listing detail section for specific material used.
What is 14k Gold-Filled?
Gold-Filled is a very thick layer of solid 14k gold pressure-bonded to a jeweler’s brass core. The solid 14k gold layer is 100x thicker than gold plating and makes up 5% of the weight of the piece. This gives it the look, feel, and durability of solid gold at a fraction of the cost. The gold layer is thick enough to keep skin sensitivities low just like solid gold.
Gold-Filled is the best value at an affordable price compared to solid gold.
14k Rose Gold-Filled is very similar to Yellow Gold-Filled except it has a bit more copper added to give it that rosy hue.
Do you make custom or personalized orders?
All of our charms can be personalized just for you.
How do you get the designs on the charm?
We use a precision laser to permanently engrave the designs onto the charms.
