Frequently asked questions
I need help with a pattern!
If you are stuck, never hesitate to reach out to me! I am always available and would love to help you. I want you to succeed and love the finished piece. You can email me at tina@wiresandknots.com or contact me through Etsy.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
If you want to give one of my items as a gift, please mark the item as a "gift" when checking out. While I do not offer wrapping paper, you can be assured the item will be neatly wrapped with recyclable kraft paper and tied with a coordinating cotton cord. In addition, I neatly handwrite your personalized message on cardstock and include a branded business card with the gift. No information about price is included. My return address will say "Wires and Knots Design" to ensure the recipient knows the package is from a business.
Do you take custom orders?
I would be honored to create a beautiful piece of art just for you. Please feel free to contact me on Etsy or click "Request Custom Order" on my Etsy shop to learn more about custom designs.
How do I care for fiber art?
When unrolling your new wall hanging, you may need to straighten and fluff the ends of the piece. This can be accomplished by holding the dowel/branch with one hand and using your fingers to rake through the wall hanging in a downward motion. I include a biodegradable comb with all wall hangings that have tassels. In humid climates, tassels may curl overtime, but this can be mitigated by combing periodically.
What materials do you use?
I use zero-waste cotton cords for the majority of my work from a woman-owned company in the United States (Ganxxet). All branches are sustainably foraged by my family. Only fallen branches are collected, and sparingly so, to ensure the local ecosystem is minimally disrupted. After collection, branches are cleaned, dried, and hand-sanded to perfection. Wooden dowels are untreated and hand-sanded to remove rough edges.
How do you package orders?
All of my packaging supplies are plastic free. I only use recycled, recyclable, and biodegradable materials. Items are wrapped in kraft paper and secured with a cotton cord and/or a sticker. I use kraft paper as cushioning to protect items during transit. Shipping boxes are made from sturdy cardboard and sealed with biodegradable tape.
