Each painted silk comes with a handmade wrap which can be customized under request . Also , if you wish me to add a special message to the recipient , please, contact me .
I always add a care instuction card into the package .

Most of my paintings can be customised : just check if the listing allows customisation and please , send a message with your special request .
Custom orders may be personalised in size and / or colours .

I only ship items with a tracking number. I am not asked to declare value to the Post for a tracked standard international shipping outside the European Union.
Usually delivered in the US in 10/12 business days and 3 weeks in Canada ( and Canada does not keep tracking the item , unfortunately ).

I only paint 100% natural silk fabrics . There are many kind of silks differing widely in weight , aspect ( mat versus glossy ) , weaving and ... price .
I always specify which kind of silk I chose for each o my designs and here, in the FAQs below, I write a resume of the main features of each kind of natural silk . These details might help you in your purchase decision either of a ready to ship item or a custom order .

The weight of silk fabric is expressed by the number of Mommes ( mm ) . One momme weight is about 4.3 grammes per square metre .

- PONGE' silk ( synonym for the japanese word HABOTAI meaning suave ) : it is a flat wowen and glossy silk . It is the most commonly used silk for silk painting .
Pongé # 5 ( 5 mm , that is about 22 grammes per square metre ) is lightweight . Extremely smooth , does not drape as easily as other kinds of silk but it is charming for its semi-transparency and rather glossy aspect .
Pongé #9 ( about 35 grammes / square metre ) is more expensive than Pongé #5 as it is thicker , it is not transparent , it is glossy and extremely strong even if it is a light /mid weight silk : it will last a lifetime .

Twill silk is often used for high end scarves and it is not flat : it is woven creating very small diagonal " lines " , it drapes beautifully , it is glossy and makes the colors " sing " , that is they are more vibrant than on flat Pongé silk . The same thing goes for watercolor paper with a texture . It is more expensive than Pongé silk . I usually paint a #10 Twill ( 44 grammes per square metre ) , when I pick this kind of silk for a design .

Muslin silk is a very lightweight silk looking like chiffon . Its weight is only 3.5 mommes . It is mat , very transparent and as light as a feather. Definitely the lightest kind of silk ever woven . It drapes very beautifully and looks very feminine and sultry . It is very charming as colors , due to its transparency , look very light but , as the painted fabric flows and bends doubling up , it creates the most vibrant colors effect around the body . It is a delicate silk , to be trated with care , and maybe the best one for Summer . Muslin chiffon scarves are like precious jewels . I love so much this kind of silk even if it is not the easiest one to paint .

CREPE GEORGETTE silk is a kind of mat silk more luxurious than flat chiffon silk , semi-transparent , woven with a fine texture . It drapes very beautifully and it will last a lifetime . I usually paint #8 or #10 georgette ( 32 to 44 grs per square metre ) . More expensive than Muslin and Pongé silk .

CREPE DE CHINE is a very luxurious and expensive silk with a gentle sheen , draping very beautifully , not transparent , giving a lot of vibrancy to the colors . I usually paint the weight #12 Crepe de Chine. It looks very classy ! It has a very long span of life .

Charmeuse silk , also called Crepe satin , is a peculiar kind of silk whose front side aspect is very glossy and smooth ( satin ) and the back side is matter and woven like crepe de Chine . Both sides are equally beautiful and it drapes in a manificent way . It is often used for luxurious "lingerie" as the French say - or underwear - and for clothes , not only for accessories . It is the most expensive kind of silk among all and , even if you buy a thick charmeuse silk , do not store it folded : it always has to be stored hanging !
