This is the ‘Autumn Fruits Blanket’ crochet pattern - a blanket inspired by the changing colours of autumn and the wild berries that appear in the hedgerows. Wrap up warm and head out for a walk, enjoying the colours of nature… what a joyous season it can be!
The finished blanket measures approximately 90cm x 110cm (35in x 43in)
I used a 4mm crochet hook and 8 x 100g balls of Stylecraft ‘ReCreate’ - a DK weight yarn made from 100% recycled materials (40% wool, 30% acrylic, 30% polyester, 100g/350m/383yds). Lots of other DK weight yarns could be used. Using an Aran weight yarn is also possible but it will result in a larger blanket.
This is a written crochet pattern and you will have access to the pattern in both UK and US crochet terms. It’s a blanket which I like to call mindful crochet. It’s based on a 14 row repeat and once you’re away and familiar with those rows, it’s the kind of repetitive crochet you don’t have to concentrate too much on. It’s the colour changes that keep you on your toes. I absolutely loved designing and making it…
