My name is Sage Coy! I am a midwest to Pacific Northwest transplant, living on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state. Music has always been my primary art form (I am a cellist), but over the last few years I've become inspired by my surroundings to create art and jewelry with my hands.
Pacific NW jade, turtleback jasper and poppy jasper can all be found on the coast of the Olympic Peninsula, not to mention the beautiful agates and other crystals that live in eastern Washington. Hunting for these gems has brought me to beautiful places, and learning about the processes involved in their formation only increases my awe of their incredible beauty, formed by years and years of plate shifting, heating, cooling and ocean tumbling. When wrapping these stones, I try to use simple, elegant, and strong wire weaving to mirror the delicacy and precision that created them, while keeping the stone itself the focal point. I also source stones from local shops and rock hounds, selecting pieces that I find particularly intriguing. All of my wire and other necklace making materials have been purchased from a small, family owned bead and jewelry store in Port Townsend, WA.
Thank you so much for checking out my shop! It has been a long time in the making, and I look forward to continued growth and creative exploration with your support!
