This activity book is intended to be used in conjunction with “Tending the Garden of Our Hearts: Daily Lenten Meditations for Families" (available here: https://store.ancientfaith.com/tending-the-garden-of-our-hearts-daily-lenten-meditations-for-families/) After reading each day's meditation in that book, children can complete the related spread in this activity book.

Each week of Great Lent has its own section in the activity book. The week's pages begin with a title page and a verse related to the theme for the week, followed by the daily spreads for that week. Every day there is an activity page related to the meditation, then a follow-up/“digging deeper” question for children to answer with a drawing or with words, and a scripture verse that is somehow related to that day's meditation. This activity book includes varied pages, in an attempt to reach a variety of learners. Parents are encouraged to adjust their usage of the activity book to meet the needs of their children. The family’s mutual engagement with the daily meditations in the book are the best way that children will learn through them, but this activity book is offered as an added opportunity for learning.

Purchasers may print as many copies as their immediate family needs. Print the book in its entirety, back to back, so that each day's spread ends up together. Then punch holes in the center, and insert it in a binder or folder.
