This step-by-step manufacturing plan is intended to guide you through all the steps needed to successfully build the machine. It is a PDF document containing 57 pages with technical drawings and assembly manual.
The design is focused on simplicity, safe operation and easy maintenance.
The power hammer is built using commonly available consumer goods with limited amount of custom-made parts. Therefor it is simple to build the machine anywhere on the planet.
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Considering the heavy strain of the machine, it is made of durable materials such as steel and spruce beams. The main frame and the stand of flywheel is welded, the other parts are mostly connected by screws and joints that allow the easy maintaining or replacing the worn out parts.
SPECIFICATIONS / DIMENSIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
◦ Length: 1.500 mm (59 in.)
◦ Width: 700 mm (27 1/2 in.)
◦ Height: 1.750 mm (69 in.)
◦ Total weight: 160 kg (353 lbs)
◦ Hammer weight: 5.0 kg (11 lb)
◦ Basement: Cement-bonded particleboard
◦ Speed: 170 blows/min.
◦ Average Impact Force: 557 N (56.8 Kilogram Force; 125.2 Pound Force)
◦ Peak Impact Force: 1.114 N (113.6 kgf; 250.4 lbf)
◦ Die adjusted 45 degrees
◦ Three-phase electric motor 0.75 kW, 400V, 920 rpm
OPERATION:
The machine is driven by an electric motor, but the steering is enabled by a treadle that is bent around the base. The machine can be controlled by a single step on the treadle from any position, regardless the workshop's arrangement. As the force is adjustable, the user can also regulate the force between a very light tap and a hard strike.
I believe that this manual will be a valuable guide and you will enjoy the journey to build your own power hammer.
